FireGuard™
FireGuard™ is a Class A certified real wood exterior trim and fascia product, coated with an intumescent material which expands upon exposure to heat or flame providing added protection against Mother Nature’s most challenging element – FIRE. FireGuard™ is the desired trim and fascia product for builders in all areas, including those with various Wildland Urban Interface fire code requirements. Available in most common profiles and dimensions, FireGuard™ provides you with the peace of mind that you have taken the additional steps to enhance the protection of your home.
FireGuard™ meets the requirements of
having a Class A (formerly Class 1) Fire rating with a Flame Spread
rating of less than 25.
Coating Technology
FireGuard™
products are coated through an exclusive partnership with NoFire
Technologies Inc.® utilizing their industry leading ultra low V.O.C.
fire retardant paint. With approvals and testing from the Department of
the Navy, State of California – State Fire Marshal (C-20501), UL
classification and numerous other governmental agencies, NoFire™
coating provides the peace of mind builders and homeowners require. See

Manufacturing Process and Code Compliance
We hand select our products to provide you an appearance grade trim and fascia product that delivers the curb appeal and quality buyers expect. Our products are coated using specially designed machines to provide FireGuard™ with the optimal amount of paint coverage to ensure long-term performance in the field.
Builders and homeowners depend on FireGuard™ to comply with
various regulations and building codes. The only way to be sure of that
compliance is by accredited third party testing and inspection.
Woodtone maintains flame spread and smoke developed listings for
FireGuard™ at Intertek by using the ASTM E84 “Standard Test Method for
Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials". To maintain the
listing at Intertek Woodtone participates in a follow-up audit program,
including quarterly tests in accordance with Intertek testing policies.
